You found a forest but not the way out found your voice no need to shout it’s time to bury that unicorn and all the other magical things and sing moon sing! the moon she will sing your way home you can’t fight the forest or cover your tired tracks they wont lead you to safety they’ll only bring you back the moon she will sing your way home

Are you exactly where you want to be? are you exactly what they want you to be? do you speak like them? so your little world doesn’t end what’s your five year plan? will you reach for the helping hand? first across the line or you’ll get left behind are you saving for your future? so your future can save you now are you exactly what you do? just keep on keeping on till you have nothing left to lose what’s your five year plan? will you reach for the helping hand? first across the line or you’ll get left behind

You left me love in a mist before your mind was set adrift searching for light in the dead of night twilight, blind sight you can’t grow without light you left me forget me nots tell you now you weren't forgot doomed to disintegrate while you planned your great escape into the twilight, blind sight flowers bloom into you heartsease hearts bleed you showed me everything heartsease as i live and breathe you taught me everything how to grow night flowering endless endless searching blindly through the dark your haunted past pulling you apart into the spotlight, ghost white you can’t grow without light heartsease hearts bleed you showed me everything heartsease as i live and breathe you taught me everything how to grow

New World 02:55
You told me one thing but your eyes were telling me another looks like you’re escaping but it’s wrong for me to assume that i know what you’re thinking in this new world find your reflection in a flame win or lose it’s all the same while the world waltzes with change i’m left wondering what you would have made of this new world you told me one thing but your eyes were telling me another looked like you were escaping but i was afraid to admit that’s what you were thinking of a new world
6.
Horror Show 04:12
Feed him bones a horror show guess you could call it a sick joke atta boy there’s a good lad try not to look so sad because it won’t last this is just a phase and it will pass eat it up buttercup lets make this quick and no throwing up be still don’t panic or bolt like a rabbit it’s not like you ever really had it because it won’t last this is just a phase and it will pass brittle bones for you alone just like you to bitch and moan stick around don’t make a sound and don’t bring me down the circus is coming to your town because it won’t last this is just a phase and it will pass don’t get distressed my little princess always remember that you tried your best to be fair you didn’t panic or run yourself ragged while you watched this strange urge become a habit because it won’t last this is just a phase and it will pass
7.
I know enough to know i’m not a clever man but i’m wise enough to recognise my own ignorance and how it spans for miles and miles and miles left my mind out in the cold can’t shake the blindfold i tied many moons ago so much i don’t know secrets untold i don’t know right from wrong can barley pen a song upside down the right way round unhinged and unsound i know i’m not a clever man but i’m sly enough to understand my idiocy runs deep from time to time i’ll try sure enough but i fear it’s just a bluff and i don’t care about anything else but myself my stupid my wretched my god awful self who don’t know right from wrong can barely pen a song upside down the right way round unhinged and unsound

Every moon has a song every moon has a song the crescent carries all your memories within it’s melody it’s pagan poetry shines through the trees divining all who sees every moon has a song every moon has a song the crescent carries you into my dreams with every brilliant beam and all the has ever been growing and fading rise and falling beginning and ending create and destroying every moon has a song every moon has a song every moon has a song waxing and waning

about

Much like death, grief is a fact of life. Impossible to describe or escape.

Losing a friend to cancer and a girlfriend to suicide I was coerced by the universe into a crash course in grief. The former was a compassionate mental health nurse, the latter sadly suffered an immense mental breakdown. They died almost exactly a year apart.

I didn’t set out to make an album based on this experience but during the process of writing and recording new material I was bound to an ever present sense of grief. The cycle turning over and over from shock, pain, guilt, anger, denial but then finally giving way to acceptance and hope. The songs became intertwined with these feelings and making this album helped me untangle and deal with them.

Hope and salvation was found in observing the natural order of our world. Watching a seed grow into a beautiful flower then recede back into the earth. Looking into our deep dark sky night after night as the moon waxed and waned. How these simple earthly actions related to loves lost also became the basis of Grief Cycles.

All proceeds will be donated to the mental health charity MIND.

Thanks for listening.
